A Design-Driven Approach to Reducing Household Food Waste with AI: Engaging the Stakeholder’s Cooperation for Sustainable Management
The thesis explores the role of Artificial Intelligence in addressing domestic food waste, identifying opportunities by involving retailers to enhance meal and shopping planning. It examines possibilities, challenges, and implementation methods of an AI-service in the supermarket customer experience, highlighting benefits for involved actors and constraints related to adoption, data collection, and consumer perception.
The research concludes with defining guidelines for service design, advocating for stakeholder cooperation, personalization, reduced effort in usage compared to the offered reward, ease of use, data adaptability, and ethical collection and utilization. It ensures a positive impact on the environment, with transparency and advantages for all involved stakeholders.
