The thesis aims to illustrate the relationship between 3D knitting technology and the furniture/piece of furniture sector, exploring its applications, potentialities and potential contribution to the transition towards a more sustainable production.

Thanks tot he development of a lounge chair, this thesis defines useful guidelines for the designer to approach and use 3D knitting technology.
